We live and work in such an amazing place! As the weather warms up, the Pearl District Portfolio team will keep you updated on Pearl happenings: art, culture, and Pearl activities. We’ve got you covered!

Portland's Original Creative District

The Pearl is famous for it its art scene. Did you know that the Pearl District has the most art galleries of any area in Portland?

The Pearl has a long history as a place for art and artists. In earlier days, warehouses and railroad tracks mixed with industrial grit provided a rich foundation for Portland's quirky art community. Today, the Pearl District continues to be a haven for creatives of all types, from internationally renowned creative agencies like Wieden and Kennedy (W+K), to the Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) to the amazing variety of local artists and galleries located throughout the neighborhood.

Get Involved in the Pearl District

Join your community!

The Pearl District has one of the strongest volunteer organizations in the city. The Pearl District Neighborhood Association (PDNA) is made of volunteers committed to keeping the Pearl District beautiful.

The PDNA always has a variety of ways to participate, but there are some key events we wanted to share.

Pearl District Community Clean Up Event

This Saturday - May 28th!

9 am - 12 pm

Meet at the Keen Parking Lot (NW Glisan and 13th Ave). Refreshments courtesy of Basics Market. Please bring your trash picker or pickers will be available if needed.

Join the newly formed We Heart Portland for a major cleanup of the entire Pearl District! While cleaning up trash with volunteer participation, We Heart Portland operates in a compassionate, non-enabling way to help people living on the streets move into a safer and cleaner environment. This event is not under the jurisdiction of the PDNA, but has its support and many of the active volunteers are with local neighborhood associations and involved in the safety and livability of our neighborhoods.

Spread the word to your friends and neighbors about this event. Working together we will get our District sparkling again.

For more information, contact community leader, Judie Dunken, Judie@thedunkengroup.
