To Celebrate and Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
There are few figures in American history as inspirational as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His legacy is etched into our past and future: King was committed to creating an equitable society and using the power of peace to combat hate. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for his heroic efforts.
Locally, there are many outstanding events and organizations celebrating Dr. King Jr.’s legacy:
The Skanner Foundation 35th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Breakfast, held virtually this year. There is much we can do to support the theme and call to action for 2021 by The King Center: THE URGENCY OF CREATING THE BELOVED COMMUNITY!
