BodyVox: Inspiration and Engagement through Dance
A dance pop-up in the Pearl District
“We look forward to returning to live performances as soon as possible. In the meantime we will continue applying our creative energies in ways that inspire us and allow us to remain engaged with our audience and community”. - Jamey Hampton
2021 is a time of innovation for the creative community. Live performances are now limited to a few individuals standing at a six-foot distance. Body Vox, a dance company based in Portland, Oregon has reimagined dance performance with a 3-day BodyVox Video Installation, a pop-up gallery, located in the historic Maddox Building, in the Pearl District. The video installation focuses on how dance is affected by light, technology, and perspective, Feb 4-6, 2021. The installation will be shown throughout the entirety of the Maddox with the main room comprised of multiple video projections and music allowing a variety of perspectives as the visitor is immersed in the dances "Synaesthesia," "Deep Wading," and "Figments."
In-person viewing will be limited to 15 people, with a program that runs every half hour. Tickets are $10.
