Warm summer evenings in the Pearl District are fabulous! Grab those shades and sunscreen -July is when summer really starts- temperatures rise, as do ice cream sales, and there's an abundance of floral clothing and fruity cocktails.
Wander down the historic 13th Avenue, built over the train tracks that once fed Portland's turn-of-the-century industry. The stunning brick-lined buildings and water towers tell the story of the Pearl District, once an industrial powerhouse, transformed into walkable tree-lined streets and robust with incredible restaurants, shops, and art.
The red-brick Maddox Building sits on a quarter block in the heart of the Pearl District. The four-story building was constructed in 1906 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places - www.pearldistrictportfolio.com/history
Art - First Thursday
First Thursday Street Gallery
Beginning in the Spring through October, on the first Thursday of each month, local artists come to sell their work along 13th Avenue between NW Irving and NW Johnson.

The 13th Avenue Street Gallery is an outdoor complement to the Pearl's First Thursday Art Walk. Numerous local Pearl District galleries open after-hours to highlight new monthly exhibitions.

Six Friday Art Events Begin in July!
The celebrations don't stop on Thursday! Beginning July 15th, festivities will expand to include six Friday art events. Artists will set up on NW 13th Avenue between NW Everett - NW Irving from 5 pm to 9 pm.
