Where to Eat, and Why
A Brief Pearl District Restaurant Tour
Portland's culinary scene is world-famous, and the Pearl District is no exception. Food from every corner of the world can be found in our community! We're incredibly fortunate to have such great restaurants within just a few blocks. New restaurants have opened in our neighborhood, and if you haven't already explored all that the Pearl District food scene has to offer, now's the time!
Luckily, it's been a great summer, and the outdoor dining scene is robust. Decks or sidewalk options are a must as we continue to manage COVID safety. The Pearl culinary scene has an outstanding array of places to enjoy your meal in the fresh air.
There are dozens of fantastic restaurants that fit this description and we would love to list them all, but instead, here are some of our favorites, and below are comprehensive lists for your enjoyment. Bon appétit!
BOTANIST HOUSE
Every neighborhood has a bar, but few have one like Botanist House. Great food, quality cocktails, entertainment, and a fun and festive atmosphere make this the ideal date night destination or just a place to gather with friends.
EVERYBODY EATS
Everybody Eats is a black-owned restaurant that blends southern and Pacific Northwest styles, and puts a new spin on “classic seafood and soul food.” And the food they have is not to be missed.
ANDINA
Andina fuses native and contemporary Peruvian cuisines for the kind of food it’s hard to find outside of Peru. Doris Rodriguez de Platt, the owner, “collaborates with Andina’s kitchen team to develop a menu that celebrates her family’s Andean roots, interweaving the ideas and techniques of both Criollo and modern Peruvian cuisines.”
SCREEN DOOR
Screen Door offers gourmet southern cuisine, prepared with both modern and historical methods. This traditional cooking and modern experimentation makes the menu as delicious as it is authentic.
BASICS MARKET
Basics Market is a grocery store dedicated to providing locally sourced, high-quality products. They source their food with local ranches and farms and are able to provide the kind of freshness that comes only with a farm-to-table supply chain.
Cooperativa
Not only is Cooperativa an Italian market with all of the high-quality artisan foodstuffs you’d hope for; but they offer beautifully curated grab-and-go bundles for an easy, hands-off shopping experience.
