Reclaiming the Pearl District Starts with You
A Comprehensive Humanitarian/Security Plan comes to the Pearl District with the founding of The NW Community Conservancy (NWCC).
Northwest Community Conservancy’s (NWCC) purpose is to provide a transformative community district that will enhance safety and livability for all who live, work, and learn in the Pearl District neighborhood. The vision of the NWCC is to create a non-profit service district that will continually deal with the Pearl District's growing challenges and is responsive to the community.
The NWCC was founded in response to the challenges we face in our community: Building Break-ins - Car Break-ins - Vandalism - Assaults - Graffiti - Drug Dealing - Prostitution - Mental Health Incidents - Tents - Excessive Trash/Garbage.
NWCC will partner with Loving One Another (LOA) and Pacific Echelon for a critical humanitarian and security partnership.
The Pearl District Business Committee will host the NWCC for an update on the newly launched plan. When: 3rd Thursday of the month: Next Meeting - March 16, 2023

TOTAL COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
The combined security and humanitarian efforts will help bring vibrancy back to the Pearl for the enjoyment of residents, businesses and their employees, property owners, and visitors.
STREET VISIBILITY
Create a visible street presence with professional service providers—the security company Echelon Protective Services and its non-profit partner, Loving One Another (LOA). This will supplement ongoing volunteer work in the neighborhood and provide a dedicated team to address safety and livability concerns.
ENGAGEMENT AND MANAGEMENT
LOA will compassionately engage with people in crisis or living on the street and help them with access to shelters and support systems.
INCREASED SECURITY
Echelon Protective Services will manage the program’s security aspect. They will provide expanded security with quick response time to incidents of vandalism, theft, personal assaults, graffiti, and more.
REPORTING
The NWCC board of directors will oversee the work and report regularly to the community through clear and transparent methods, including a website, newsletter and other tools.
METRICS
Metrics will be established with LOA and Echelon Protective Services to ensure that NWCC’s desired outcomes are met, measured and reported.
COMMUNICATION
NWCC will provide information regarding best practices, metrics and accountability via the NWCC website and other public-facing materials.
