A Day for Climate Action
April 22nd is Earth Day!
What is Earth Day? It is the day marking the beginning of the modern environmentalist movement in 1970. The holiday is a day of action for the climate, and https://www.earthday.org/ is a fantastic hub of climate action. Whether you’re cleaning up trash with us in the Pearl District or just getting outside this Saturday, make sure to celebrate Earth Day!
Join hosts Pearl District Neighborhood Association (PDNA) and Loving One Another (LOA) for an Earth Day gathering on April 22nd to clean the Pearl District: removing graffiti, cleaning the streets, parks and making the Pearl District safer and healthier for our businesses, residents, families, and visitors.
“This Earth Day, Loving One Another will be working alongside our community partners to clean the streets in Portland’s Pearl District. We will also be receiving an award for our transformative work transitioning members of our community suffering from houselessness. Please come and join us as we practice our activism by engaging our neighbor’s love and kindness!” Alex Stone, CEO, Loving One Another.

PDNA Board President Stanley Penkin said of the project, “In these challenging times, people working together helps to maintain a safe, beautiful, and livable neighborhood that builds a loving community for all. We welcome everyone to join us in that effort.”
We’d like to thank event key sponsors Milgard Windows and Doors and Miter Foundation and the numerous other generous sponsors, including Pacific Echelon, Adopt One Bock, and Transformation Strategies, for serving as the grant manager for The Pearl District Restoration Project. These amazing organizations have linked arms and resources to organize this event and provide an opportunity for long-term community support in the Pearl District.
To donate to this restoration project and help LOA and the PDNA community improvements, assistance for the homeless (including providing a way out of homelessness), and reinforce neighborhood safety and security, visit the Transformation Strategies event page:
